Medical tax certificates

It's tax season again. Every year, we send you your medical tax certificate to submit with your income tax return. Your medical tax certificate is now available on the website. The South African Revenue Service (SARS) requires medical schemes to reflect the total contributions paid in the current tax period. We also have to show the total value of claims not covered by the Scheme and confirmation of the beneficiaries on your membership.

The easiest and most secure way to get your tax certificate is to download it from the member area on the Scheme's website at www.yourremedi.co.za or the Remedi app. In case you would like to reconcile your medical expenses to your tax certificate, you can download your tax summary from Remedi's website, which is also available in the member area on the Scheme's website and which is a supporting document for members who needs the detail to reconcile their medical expenses or to respond to the South African Revenue Services ("SARS") queries. In downloading both these documents, you can use your medical tax summary to reconcile your medical expenses to your tax certificate.
